The Makers Making List for Gifts

If you're a maker like me then you'll have already started (or been procrastinating) your gift making.
At some point, you'll be scratching your head to find that perfect item to make & give that will be The.Best.Gift.Ever. a gift that will be treasured, used, loved & admired for many years to come.

So, to make things easier for you, below is a list of some awesome things to make & gift, let's start with the small stuff & work our way to the bigger stuff:

Do you love this cute lil mouse ornament as much as I do? You can use you scrap fabrics in any colour or make it festive by using Christmas coloured fabrics. This pattern is definitely on my to buy & to make list!

I kind of fell in love with these kittys at first glance, get the cute kitty knitting pattern here.

If you loved those kittens then you'll absolutey adore these frogs. You can knit them or crochet them and add clothes if you have the time. I even made myself one a couple of years ago.

These sunflower dolls will brighten anyone's day, I have a crazy idea to make the flowers purple & then stuff some lavender into them for extra oomph! 

This Drip Tote bag sewing pattern will be fun to make and handy to receive as a gift. Imagine the colour combos you could come up with and if you have a KPop Demon Hunter fan in your family, then they'll love the add-ons with this pattern!

Cats & crochet go together perfectly, so these cute cat cuisine crochet plushies are the best thing ever.

These chunky mittens look like a quick make & perfect for all ages & genders.

For the plant lover, then these Blossom Critter Pots are absolutely perfect!

What about making a fab project bag for someone who knits, crochets, sews, reads etc? This Makers Tote is fun to make & so much stuff fits inside it, I made one a years ago & it's my fave project bag to use.

This Sofa Station is perfect for your 'couch sewer' or embroidery lover or even someone like me, who sticks their knitting stitch markers into the actual couch so I don't loose them!

My ultimate favourite make for gifting would have to be a bunch of crochet flowers. You can make a mixed bunch or give just one, it's the perfect 'everlasting flower'.

Sewing a gift :: a quilted tote bag

 

I just recently finished this quilted tote as a gift for my very first 'real life' sewing buddy! Yay, someone that I can sit & chat fabrics, patterns and all things sewing related with! We've even had a 'sewing date' at her house (her house is bigger than mine and has more room to cut fabric).

I tried to use fabrics from my stash, I know she likes the colour brown, so I found some fabrics that went well with each other. I love the bag so much that I'll be making one of my own too!

I didn't follow the pattern 100% as I added some more pockets into it - check out how I sewed it in this Youtube clip here....

Below is a piccie of the bag almost done, I was just going to handsew the binding in the photo.

A Christmas Wreath

 

I had the opportunity to attend a wreath making workshop with a friend recently and I sat down and wrangled dried flowers & leaves for two hours and managed to make this wreath. 

I love it, it's currently hanging up on my front door. Ironically, I found a list of things that I wanted to do for this Christmas (written after last Christmas) and the item on top of the list was to have a wreath for a door!

Scrappy Tula Pink pouch for a gift

Sunday afternoon & the perfect gift idea

 

I had a nice quiet Sunday afternoon: I sat inside with the kids and whilst they were playing video games, I crocheted a Christmas present.

Isn't it just absolutely adorable! Can you tell it's a watering can? As soon as I put eyes on it, it just came to life and now my son wants me to make him one too!

Yarn, I used stuff from my stash but you could also use this green or maybe this pretty green too.

Eyes: I used this type.

The question is, should I make more? What colours should I make? Perhaps I should make a big collection of watering cans but what is what would they be called? A sprinkling of cans? A clan of cans? A school of clans?
