Poncho love

I knitted this poncho last year but I'd been waiting for the cold weather to wear it.
It's now winter and brr, this poncho is coming in handy for those chilly days!
Pattern is this one.
Yarn is this one and it contains possum ...it's so freaking soft, I can't believe I waited this long to try possum yarn!  Have you ever knit, used or seen possum yarn?

The easiest tote that I've ever made!

The title says it all, this is the easiest tote that I've ever made!
It didn't even take an hour to make, truly easy.
Fabric is from my stash. Handles are webbing strap stuff that I had in my stash that actually matched the colour in the fabric.
Pattern is this tote, go on and grab it for yourself now.

Honestly, this was so freakin' easy that I'll be making more as gifts and showing my 8yo son, Joe, how to make it too.
Have you made this pattern or do you think you will now?
Oh, a quick question ... if you were to receive this bag as a gift (either for a birthday or Christmas), would the bag in itself be enough as a gift or would I have to fill it with something like chocolate, toys or maybe even something else handmade?

Tula Pink Teachers Gift

What do you make a teacher whose colour is blue and loves owls? ...hmm, there was only one fabric that came to mind, Tula Pink of course!
But what to make with that gorgeous owl fabric?  We thought & thought and came up with a water bottle carrier and a clipboard - the teacher had a very plain & boring clipboard, so we thought she'd appreciate an upgrade!
We used the same method & tutorial that we used for these ones but by this time, we were a pro at making the covers!

The clipboard, well we winged that!  I used a basic clipboard like this one, used a rectangle of fabric for a pen holder and then stuck it all down with Odicoat and then covered it in several layers to make ith more durable.

I think the clipboard looks awesome!
Funny thing, when we gifted it to the teacher, she just thought the water bottle cozy was the gift, didn't notice the clipboard .. when she did finally notice it, she almost cried tears of joy!
It was super simple to make one, go ahead and make one for the teacher in your life!

Teachers Gifts

When Laney finished kindy (last year!!) I wanted to give the teacher & teacher's aide a handmade gift that was useful and something that they'd use.
After accompanying them on multiple class trips, I noticed that they didn't use a water bottle carrier ... so bingo, that's what we'd make them and yes, include a new water bottle to fit perfectly!
Laney searched through my stash to find the perfect fabric for each person and then we used this easy video to make them up.
They were super easy to make and I cheated by adding strapping for the handle and if you're wondering where you get the cord lock thingies, try getting them here.
...oh & yes, it was actually December last year that I gave (as that's the end of our schooling year) but hey, life goes on and time slips by!
