Stripey Fingerless Gloves

I remember as a kid, my Dad used to say "if you hold Marie's hand she'll walk forever with you" … I think the same goes for Laney except now that it's mid winter, those little hands are getting super cold, so the solution was to make her some gloves.

Wedgies for Joe

I just finished crocheting this cushion for Joe and he loves it!
This pattern was from a designer called '10 Hours or Less', so I of course, kept track of how long it took to make.

Quick & Easy hat

Further to my super sized shawl that I finished the other day, I then needed a hat to keep my head warm.

Snuggly Winter Mornings

It's cold here in Tasmania at the moment as it's the middle of winter and walking the kids to school each day is a very frosty experience. I needed something snuggly warm to burrow into and keep my hands free (to hold my kids hands of course).

The little yellow lamb hat.

It'd had been a while since I'd tried colour work, so I thought I'd knit a quick hat to refresh my skills.
This hat is a surprise gift for Laney as it's cold down here at the moment and she needs a hat for walking to school.

I used this yarn in the colours daffodil, silver grey & white and the pattern was this one.

I think my colour work skills need some work, so I'm currently eyeing this hat to brush up on my skills!

Swinging top for Laney

I originally started sewing myself a top but life just kept getting in the way, so I switched and made Laney this top instead.  I think I made the right choice, as she looks so cute in it!

A gorgeous birthday bag.

We had a 6yo birthday party approaching and I'd been scratching my head as to what to buy as a gift because I'm trying to avoid buying crappy plastic presents, when it dawned upon me ... make her something! So I asked my Little Miss Four if I should make a bag and "YES" was the definite answer!  So here it is!

My latest sewing project was this super cute vest for Joe. It's just starting to get a bit cooler here in Tasmania, so it'll keep him snuggly warm whilst playing outside.

"must reach ankles"

Ok, so when Laney walked up to me the other day and quite firmly told me that she doesn't have a dress that reaches her ankles and Mumma needed to make her a new dress now... well, yes I did drop everything and make that girl a dress!

She very clearly stated that the dress must reach her ankles and be shaped like her purple Elsa top. Here is a photo of her trying the dress on for size, showing me the ruffles that needed to go on and oh, not forgetting the very 'clear & precise' pattern that she drew for me.

Here is the finished product. I got it right. I got kisses, squeals and then she twirled and twirled.

The 'NO mystery' mystery knit project.

Bunting - so easy to make!

A super quick project to lift my sewing spirits.
This easy sewing project used some of my vintage sheet fat quarters and scraps from my ribbon collection. I'm super chuffed with myself and totally glad I made it.
I'm thinking Joe & Laney need their own bunting now, don't you?!!

Just a super quick show & tell of a crochet coat hanger that I made recently from scrap yarn. I think it turned out super pretty and the extra pompom was for the wrapping paper.

Ok, wow .. it was a crafty year!

As we have now said good bye to 2017,  I thought I'd do a quick recap on the stuff that I had made ...what I wasn't expecting was the amount of stuff that I had made!  I found photos of stuff that I'd make and had totally slipped my mind!  So to review it all, I've divided it up into groups: Bags, Yarn stuff & (other) sewing stuff.
