Teatime Unicorn Romper

Cuteness alert!
I made this romper for my daughter as she often complains that she doesn't have any trampoline clothes!  .. apparently, the majority of her clothes slip/fall down when bouncing on the trampoline and she doesn't like wearing dresses on it as she likes her knees protected.  Solution: a romper!

So I've done up a rough colour chart of yarns (see above) so I can try to make myself one and if you want to make one too then please feel free to use my draft!
Colours are from here & the colourways are as follows:

Round The World Bag

I stumbled across this bag when the designer was seeking pattern testers. I signed up straight away because I thought it was so cute and it was 'different' to a lot of the bag patterns that we see nowadays.

Quick Easy Pouch

I whipped up a small pouch for a birthday gift recently.
I hunted around for some nice fabrics, cut, sewed, trimmed, zippered and French seamed.
I think this small pouch is cute, perfect for popping into a handbag and it's definitely one-of-a-kind!

Tapestry Crochet

I'd never tried tapestry crochet before, so after stumbling on this cute pattern I thought I'd give it a try but as you can see from the original pattern I umm... well, I didn't finish it. Turns out attempting tapestry crochet for the first time with old scratchy yarn just isn't my thing!

The Big Project Bag Swap, Australia.

Do you use project bags for your craft projects?  I sure do and you know what, I wish I had bigger ones! All the projects that I'm knitting & crocheting at the moment seem to be at minimum of 4 balls and all my project bags are way too small!

Winterist

Well, would you look at that.
I knitted lace.
Chunky lace but hey it's still lace!

Stripey Fingerless Gloves

I remember as a kid, my Dad used to say "if you hold Marie's hand she'll walk forever with you" … I think the same goes for Laney except now that it's mid winter, those little hands are getting super cold, so the solution was to make her some gloves.

Pie Time crochet van ....and my own errata for the pattern!

Confession: I crocheted this van for my son last year and wanted to see how he used it before doing a Show & Tell on my blog!

I just finished crocheting this cushion for Joe and he loves it!
This pattern was from a designer called '10 Hours or Less', so I of course, kept track of how long it took to make.

Quick & Easy hat

Further to my super sized shawl that I finished the other day, I then needed a hat to keep my head warm.

Snuggly Winter Mornings

It's cold here in Tasmania at the moment as it's the middle of winter and walking the kids to school each day is a very frosty experience. I needed something snuggly warm to burrow into and keep my hands free (to hold my kids hands of course).

15 June, 2018

The little yellow lamb hat.

It'd had been a while since I'd tried colour work, so I thought I'd knit a quick hat to refresh my skills.
This hat is a surprise gift for Laney as it's cold down here at the moment and she needs a hat for walking to school.

I used this yarn in the colours daffodil, silver grey & white and the pattern was this one.

I think my colour work skills need some work, so I'm currently eyeing this hat to brush up on my skills!

A gorgeous birthday bag.

We had a 6yo birthday party approaching and I'd been scratching my head as to what to buy as a gift because I'm trying to avoid buying crappy plastic presents, when it dawned upon me ... make her something! So I asked my Little Miss Four if I should make a bag and "YES" was the definite answer!  So here it is!

Riley Vest

My latest sewing project was this super cute vest for Joe. It's just starting to get a bit cooler here in Tasmania, so it'll keep him snuggly warm whilst playing outside.

"must reach ankles"

Ok, so when Laney walked up to me the other day and quite firmly told me that she doesn't have a dress that reaches her ankles and Mumma needed to make her a new dress now... well, yes I did drop everything and make that girl a dress!

She very clearly stated that the dress must reach her ankles and be shaped like her purple Elsa top. Here is a photo of her trying the dress on for size, showing me the ruffles that needed to go on and oh, not forgetting the very 'clear & precise' pattern that she drew for me.

Here is the finished product. I got it right. I got kisses, squeals and then she twirled and twirled.

The 'NO mystery' mystery knit project.

If you scratch your heads a bit & think back to this old post where I was telling you about a disappointing knitting project, well, I finally finished it. Kind of.

Bunting - so easy to make!

A super quick project to lift my sewing spirits.
This easy sewing project used some of my vintage sheet fat quarters and scraps from my ribbon collection. I'm super chuffed with myself and totally glad I made it.
I'm thinking Joe & Laney need their own bunting now, don't you?!!
