Rainbow Blanket

I've finished this super cute rainbow blanket and yes, I'm really chuffed with the result!

So, what blanket/pattern is it?  It's this one but word of warning, although it's a blanket pattern it doesn't actually tell you how big to make cot blanket, throw blanket or a double bed size blanket etc. Which is kind of disappointing, especially if you were wanting to make a big blanket and trying to figure out how much yarn you need or how many stitches to cast on with but saying that, the stitch is really pretty isn't it!
The yarn, well it's became a new favourite I mean check out those colours! So I umm, actually purchased more than what I would use so I would have plenty of leftovers to play with!
I made the blanket into a baby blanket size for a friend who was having a baby. This friend is awesome, she came to visit me in hospital when I had my baby girl (whereas no family came to visit me). She also knocked on my door about a week after I got home with Laney bearing a fully cooked roast chicken dinner with all the vegies. She also dropped off another dinner on a different night and then surprised me with a homemade cake for my birthday too.  So she is very special to me, she not only cares about me but my kids too and although I'm way older than her, she never makes me feel old! My kids absolutely adore her as well, so we wanted to make her something extra special.  (I also made the baby this jumper too)

And speaking of my baby girl (who turns 3 next month), here she is modelling the new blanket:
 Isn't she the cutest?!
Anyway, one last shot of the blanket before I say farewell for today.
..oh did you wonder what I want to make with the scraps?  I'm thinking of this cute-as-a-button blanket.

  2. I'm working this same pattern. Been working it since January. I'm in love with it, but it's taking me forever! I'm using fingering weight yarn, though, doubled up, and it is just eating up the yarn. I can't wait for it be finished. Yours is stunning! Great job!
