I've finished this super cute blanket and yes, I'm really chuffed with the result!

I used this blanket pattern and yes, it's super easy & fun to make. It looks complicated but trust me, the pattern has an easy technique and you'll be super proud of yourself when you've finished a row, then another, then another!

The yarn, well it's became a new favourite I mean check out those colours! I actually purchased more than what I would use so I would have plenty of leftovers to play with! You can get the yarn from here or here.

I made the blanket into a baby blanket size for a friend who was having a baby. This friend is awesome, she came to visit me in hospital when I had my baby girl (whereas no family came to visit me). She also knocked on my door about a week after I got home with Laney bearing a fully cooked roast chicken dinner with all the vegies. She also dropped off another dinner on a different night and then surprised me with a homemade cake for my birthday too.  So she is very special to me, she not only cares about me but my kids too and although I'm way older than her, she never makes me feel old! My kids absolutely adore her as well, so we wanted to make her something extra special.

And speaking of my baby girl (who turns 3 next month), here she is modelling the new blanket:

  2. I'm working this same pattern. Been working it since January. I'm in love with it, but it's taking me forever! I'm using fingering weight yarn, though, doubled up, and it is just eating up the yarn. I can't wait for it be finished. Yours is stunning! Great job!

  3. What a great gift! So cheerful for a baby too! You might have to make your baby girl one - she seems to love it!
