Hexi Rose & a question for you

I just finished crocheting this gorgeous crochet motif, a hexagon with a 3 dimensional rose but my question is .. if I make more, what should I do with the motifs?

My son wants me to give him the finished motif that I made so he can sew it into a purse! 
I was thinking of crocheting them into a cushion or maybe a throw blanket but now I'm not sure as the roses are rather big, do you think they'll squash easy & look odd later on?

Pattern is not currently available BUT there is a very similar one here... and it's a crochet square so for me, that would be way better than a hexagon shape!
