What do you get when you sew a horse but your little girl loves unicorns? You turn it into a unicorn whilst sewing! Meet the Hors-icorn!
I had previously purchased a cute horse soft toy sewing pattern ready to sew for my daughters birthday but when I set out to sew it, she'd suddenly gained a strong interest in unicorns. So instead of purchasing a new kit (especially for the unicorn), I jazzed up what I had to turn it into a unicorn.
Instead of plain hooves, I used glitter felt to make it more magical. I ditched the brown felt for the main and used a white felt instead and then of course, the glitter felt unicorn horn!
My (now 5yo) daughter loves it and plays unicorn all the time with her barbie dolls!
You should totally make one too, the pattern was an easy sew.

I stumbled across this bag when the designer was seeking pattern testers. I signed up straight away because I thought it was so cute and it was 'different' to a lot of the bag patterns that we see nowadays.
The bag was easy to make too! The pattern is so well written that it makes each step easy and the only hardware needed is a normal sized zip & an optional d-ring if you were wanting to add a strap.
I made the large bag as I thought it would look cute hanging up in my crafty area when not in use.

The stuff that gives it the fantastic shape is this stuff and I gotta admit, I'm a big fan of it!
p.s. the smallest size would be super cute as a Christmas tree decoration or make 12 or 24 of them for the best advent calendar ever!

I whipped up a small pouch for a birthday gift recently.
I hunted around for some nice fabrics, cut, sewed, trimmed, zippered and French seamed.
I think this small pouch is cute, perfect for popping into a handbag and it's definitely one-of-a-kind!
Don't be too shocked when I tell you that I've just crossed the first present off my "Christmas Present Must Make" list!
This is a trivet, you know for putting teapots, saucepans or even plates on.
Do you like it? Do you think the recipient will? Disclosure: it's actually for a Kris Kringle and our them this year is trivets! (last year it was decorated coat hangers!)
It crocheted up so easily! Do you believe me? It looks tricky doesn't it but it's not. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to make, I did this in an afternoon!

I made this hobby horse and yes, it was easy and yes, my kids love it!
It looks harder to make than it actually was. In fact, my hubby asked me where I bought it from and when I told him that I had made it, he was totally surprised!
Pattern from here... but whilst you're over there looking at the pattern, buy the kit and make life even easier for yourself because all you have to do is then add the stick which is just a broom handle.
Oh.. I turned it into a unicorn by adding a removable glitter horn!
I just made a cone from glitter felt and then attached some glitter elastic, so either the horse can have the horn or my Laney can pop it on her head!.

Four days from her fifth birthday, Laney asks "Pweeze Mumma, can I have butterfly wings for my birthday. I want to fly like a butterfly." How can I refuse such a cute request!
A quick and easy sewing project for me with the added bonus of being a very comfortable!
No fancy elastic or stitching was required for this pattern. Just a couple of (very easy darts), as you can see I opted for a 'walking vent' but it's not required. I printed the pattern, cut & then sewed this up in an afternoon.
...no photo's of me modelling it though because it's winter here and too wet to take a photo outside and well, my winter white legs would be horrific to capture in a photo right now!
