Teachers gifts... I think - what do you think?

I desperately need your opinion as I'm having major self-doubts right now. I made some presents as teacher gifts for Joe's teachers ...but are they good enough or ??

So, this is what I've made....
They are big pouches with a stitched picture of the actual teachers.
Joe drew each teacher then their name, his name & the year, I then turned them into stitchey pictures and sewed a pouch.
This is the one for Mrs Evans (with Joe & 2015) in the top corner - yes it does say evans, the n is attached to the top of the a -- Joe is only 4 and I didn't want to correct or redo his handwriting.
 This is for Mrs Martin.
 So, questions...
..do they look ok?
..if you were a Kindergarten teacher (& teachers aide) would you love them or loathe them?
..are they too 'much' or too 'little'
..should I just give the standard box of chocolates instead?  Btw, I have included a small bag of fancy choccies inside of them.
Honestly, I've never done a teachers gift before & never given one either because 'back in my day' we didn't do that! Also, I think if I was a teacher, I think I'd love something like this as a gift instead!!

One little fibbie was there... well, you see Joe was four last week when he drew them but today he turned five! Yes, my baby turned five!  So today (his birthday) is this third last day of kindergarten, next year he heads to prep!

Also, I ended up buying the zips needed from here... they were awesome & bright & colourful & quick & the postage was ok & the speed of delivery was brilliant too!

  1. I think they are great - maybe add a little tag sawing drawn by Joe, stitched by mum if you are worried about what they will think. If I was a teacher I'd love a present that a student has taken the time to help create , much more meaning then something they will get 20 of (boxed chocolates) (I did ornaments - a felt circle with a felt tree with an embroidered letter on it - they look like the kids made them ha! but I had 10 to make I also added a small box of choc gingerbread cookies)

    1. My brother in law is a teacher & he gets a massive kitchen table sized stash of chocolates every year - I added choccies on the inside of these because the choccies smelt really nice & I thought they might make the bags more appealing!

  2. They are absolutely good enough. Don't let the fear stop you, Rie! You are some serious skills. You should totally do it. (But also, stuffing them with chocolates would be extra extra cool!)

    1. I am my own worst enemy when it comes to Finishers Doubt!! .. I think I get that mainly from my Mums comments of "oh" when I show her stuff!

  4. I think these are darling. And they are useful--which is a great combination!

My mom taught 1st grade for decades, and I think she would have loved these. The kinds of gifts she received of which she appreciated the thought more than the actual gift were the "Best Teacher Ever" mugs-type things, or Christmas ornaments. (We could have filled a tree with ornaments received over the years, which would have been sweet, but would have left not room for any family ornaments.)

So, in conclusion: I think you've created a real keepsake. How sweet would it be to have a portrait of my mother, drawn by her student? In a form I could carry with me every day? Lovely, lovely gift.
